Brad Booth is a jazz keyboardist/composer based in Bethesda, MD. A prolific songwriter and composer since he first began playing the guitar in 1981, Brad founded Dragonfly Mile Music, Inc. primarily as a vehicle to publish and promote original music. The company also serves as an independent record label.
Dragonfly Mile Music maintains a well-equipped project studio capable of tracking live drums, keyboards, guitars, horns, vocals and other instruments. The studio features several high-end microphones, preamps and keyboard workstations, as well as a five-piece Pearl Masters Studio drum set. A third function of the business is to provide music production, arrangement and keyboard session work for artists looking to expand the sound of their tracks. Artists looking to take advantage of any of these services should contact Brad for rates and schedule at brad@dragonflymile.com
About publishing: Most artists know instinctively that they own the copyright to their own compostions, but many do not realize that royalities from live performance and radio airplay are actually paid to the entity that controls the legal publishing rights. There are many tales of famous artists who lost control over their own catalog of works because they did not understand this element of the music business. Dragonfly Mile is affliliated with BMI, one of the two large administrators of music publishing rights in the US.
